The Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA) was founded in 1979, and is an organization devoted to the enjoyment, appreciation, and promotion of the works of Jane Austen. Today, there are approximately 5,000 members of JASNA in over 75 regions in the United States and Canada.
The Victoria Region is proud to be one of the original regions established by Joan Austen-Leigh, the great-great-grandniece of Jane Austen.
JASNA members receive a subscription to the society's newsletter, JASNA News, published three times per year, and Persuasions, JASNA's annual journal. Persuasions contains member-submitted articles on Jane Austen, and papers and reports presented at the Annual General Meeting, held each autumn.
Whether you are an avid fan of all things Jane or simply like watching Colin Firth emerge from the water in his clingy pants and white shirt, please consider joining JASNA!
